Birth photography
Remember every precious moment
of your delivery
What is
birth photography?
In birth photography, every moment of the delivery is captured aesthetically; from contractions to the first meeting with the grandparents. It ensures the most important and purest moments of your life won’t be forgotten. Think of the emotion, unconditional support of your partner, the power of the woman, the release, the happiness, and the highlight: the first meeting with your own baby!
Why
a birth photographer?
Often people choose to have a birth photographer because during previous deliveries the mothers cannot recall the delivery clearly. With birth photography every moment is captured and the entire delivery is documented. These moments become tangible and the child birth story becomes eternal, which is invaluable for yourself and later for your child.

How i work
in 4 steps
01.
Coffee Date
Childbirth is an intimate and personal event. To maintain and protect its intimate nature, it’s important for myself (as your photographer) to establish a sense of trust with you. My coffee dates are free of cost and have no strings attached. We can meet at your home or on zoom. In our conversation you can share anything you would like to see and I will explain to you how I do my work. This conversation will help you decide whether you would like to have me as your birth photographer.
03.
The delivery
I am preferably present from the active phase of labor (4-5 cm dilation). From then on, I will stay until at least 2 hours after the delivery, no matter how long the delivery takes. I will capture the delivery in a documentary style, which means you won’t notice that I am there. I work in a discrete way and remain in the background.
02.
24/7 standby
If you’ve chosen me as your birth photographer, I will be on standby 24/7 from week 38. On the day of birth itself, it’s expected for your partner to keep me updated, in order for me to arrive on time.
04.
Receiving the photos
Within 24 hours of delivery, I will send you a number of edited photos as a preview. The complete photo coverage will be sent to you after 3 weeks of delivery via WeTransfer (basic package) or personally delivered to you at your home (premium and pro package). Your physical photo album will be formatted by myself. Before it goes to the printers, you will be granted a preview and some edits can be made.

Coffee Date
Childbirth is a personal and intimate moment. In order not to disrupt this moment, it is important that there is mutual trust between you and me as a photographer. A
coffee date is a no-obligation introductory meeting. This can be done at your home or via Zoom. In the meeting we will discuss your wishes and what you can expect from my approach. After this conversation, you can calmly discuss whether it feels right to have me as your photographer.
02.
24/7 standby
If, after our introduction, you decide to choose me as your birth photographer, I will be available to you from the 38th week, day and night. On the day the birth is announced, your partner will keep me informed so that I have time to be on location. During this period, I keep in mind a possible birth at all times.
03.
The birth
I prefer to be present from the active phase (about 4-5 cm dilation) of labor. From
that moment I stay until 2 hours after the birth, no matter how long the labor takes. I put the
childbirth in a documentary way that allows you to be totally in the moment. As
birth photographer, I know how to stay in the background and work discreetly.
04.
Photos received
Within 24 hours of the birth, you will receive some edited photos as a preview. The entire
reportage you will receive 3 weeks after the birth via WeTransfer (basic package) or via a
personal delivery to your home (premium and pro package). I have also formatted the photo album for you to view and make any necessary adjustments before it goes to the printer.

Frequently
Asked Questions
This happens quite frequently. If your partner is not completely against it and is open to having a conversation, then we can still meet. Oftentimes, people are not well informed and make assumptions. In our conversations I won’t try to convince them, but I will inform you about my work in a realistic way and tell you what you can expect. This way you are able to make a well informed choice.
Oh no, definitely not. I think child birth is so special. If you look at my portfolio, you can see I capture the delivery very discreetly. I focus on love, connection and emotions. When we meet for a coffee, you are able to inform me about your wishes on what you’d like to see / would not like to see captured.

If it’s a cesarean section, then I will follow you into the operating room. I have established contracts with a number of hospitals to ensure my presence in the operating rooms. Some hospitals prohibit the presence of a birth photographer.
I can inform you about this up front in the case of a planned cesarean section. In the case of an unexpected cesarean section, I will hand over my camera to the midwife so that they can take photos. In the meantime, I will wait in the hallway until the cesarean section is over to continue photographing.
